here I am in this dang bed...
April 29, 2002The past week and a half has been spent:
1.) Going to the doctor for allergy medication and possible answers for the persistent abdominal pain. Ten days later, I have no allergy medication and inconclusive test results. Helpful.
2.) Purchasing DVDs. Because really, who doesn't need The Ten Commandments, Half Baked, MST3K's The Wild, Wild World of Batwoman, Beavis and Butthead Do America and a bargain bin copy of The Birth of a Nation? I considered getting Requiem For a Dream solely to watch the "making of" stuff, but decided that was more of rentin' activity (even though that movie beautifully compliments Half Baked). Also, I'm not planning to join the KKK, despite their ever so historically accurate portrayal in Birth of a Nation.
We have the dorkiest DVD collection ever. If someone breaks into our house, they'll laugh at us while they steal our crap. They may break some stuff, too, if that's how they operate.
3.) Watching the Cardinals lose. Their injured list was looking like the Blues in early 2001 for a few days there. I have not received a response on my offer to personally care for Bud Smith while his shoulder hurts.
4.) Watching the Blues kick ass and take names. I'm still not expecting them to make it past the second round, but Brent Johnson sure shut people up about the Blues' need for a real goal tender.
5.) Sleeping. Amazing how much better I sleep when I can turn on the air conditioning. I haven't been able to use it the past few days, but I'm looking forward to the heat now.
That's about it.
