February 28, 2001

I have uploaded a crappy entry, written yesterday and today.
[4:39:24 AM | §]

What the hell happened to athletesdirect.com? It hasn't been up for about a week.
[12:34:00 AM | §]

February 27, 2001

I have a lot more success with seeing penguins via the Penguin Cam when I go during the hours it's on.
[4:28:17 AM | §]

I'm watching for the predicted snow to start falling.
[3:09:44 AM | §]

February 26, 2001

You go, Pronger! You get out there and give San Jose a power play 11 seconds into the game!
[7:01:55 PM | §]

This weekend actually seemed long, rather than flying by. I wonder why that is.
[5:03:17 AM | §]

Our new DVD player seems to be willing to play our entire DVD collection, which includes:

A Bug's Life
Major League Baseball: All Century Team and
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut

It's impressive, I know.
[2:16:35 AM | §]

February 25, 2001

Yesterday, we exchanged our DVD player, which would play only A Bug's Life, for one that would play a wider variety of films.
[7:36:57 PM | §]

February 24, 2001

Damn it... baseball needs to be happening now. And the Blues badly need to not suck.
[5:43:50 AM | §]

I hate how the Cardinals' (and every other team's, I think) site is some mlb.com spawn now. It lacks heart. I half expect Yahoo! to get in on it, somehow...
[4:37:52 AM | §]

Why do the Blues feel the need to suck so much?

I need a shower.
[12:17:53 AM | §]

February 23, 2001

I have added an entry.
[5:12:29 AM | §]

How is it Friday already? Does this mean that the Blues are going to lose again?
[3:31:11 AM | §]

February 22, 2001

I spent most of the night reading depressing articles about Rick Ankiel's youth. I can't decide what I want to do more: give him a hug, or write Rick Ankiel/Chad Hutchinson slash. (Not that I'm going to do either of those things. I'm lazy, and he's inaccessible.)
[5:40:25 AM | §]

February 21, 2001

Is it just me, or does Reed Low kind of look like a giant gopher?
[4:52:35 AM | §]

The Blues sure have been sucking. Having Pronger and Demitra back might help. Their defense is painful to watch.
[1:59:25 AM | §]

February 20, 2001

Live nude penguins! (This isn't working for me, but it's an exciting idea.)
[5:54:12 PM | §]

Wow... sneezing is rather excruciating.
[4:43:58 AM | §]

I hope my mouth is better soon, because I'd really like to be able to eat and sleep comfortably. That would rule.
[4:33:28 AM | §]

Why must there be so many shows with Ben Stein? One was far too many.
[12:59:25 AM | §]

February 19, 2001

I should probably go see a dentist if for no other reason than that I might stop worrying about what's wrong. This is quite the pain in the ass (and jaw).
[5:13:19 AM | §]

February 18, 2001

I'm pretty sure that my gum is infected, so now I have to try to orchestrate a trip to the dentist, while Mom acts like I'm doing it only to somehow inconvenience her. (Yes, this page is good for little other than keeping up with what's physically wrong with me.)
[6:10:32 AM | §]

My mouth is in the worst pain ever. My... it never hurt this much for my other wisdom teeth to grow in. I may have to attempt to get someone to drive me to a dentist if it doesn't ease up.
[2:36:40 AM | §]

February 16, 2001

St. Louis (some of it, anyway) was without power earlier, so the Blues game was delayed long enough for me to watch Friends and still see the whole game. And the Blues won, which puts them in 1st place in the NHL (at least for a day or so). Yay.

A light bulb just went out behind me, and that really scared me. I'm a bit on edge, I think.
[4:09:08 AM | §]

I wish I hadn't bit the inside of my cheek. Remind me not to eat anymore.
[3:00:19 AM | §]

February 15, 2001

Counter! You're working again!
[4:23:13 AM | §]

I had a pretty fun dream yesterday, in which I was in a car with Rob King (of the Midwest Regional Sports Report). It was pretty much the highlight of my Valentine's Day. That, and spending way too much time getting Sim Ricky Proehl married.

I need to get out of the house more often.
[4:21:30 AM | §]

I have added a short entry, from yesterday.
[1:25:32 AM | §]

February 14, 2001

Oh, so this is working now...
[4:52:54 PM | §]

February 13, 2001

I hope that my breathing continues to improve...
[4:51:14 AM | §]

I finally gave in and took some Aleve for the horrible headache I had. (I don't like taking painkillers, because I'm on so much other medication.) Happily, it worked. Half the time, I can't tell any difference.
[4:08:30 AM | §]

February 12, 2001

Happy birthday, Lincoln! Schools in Illinois (some, anyway) have opted to use today as a day off instead of President's Day next week. Lincoln would be so thrilled.
[3:32:33 AM | §]

February 11, 2001

The Illilikepie finally won a game at Purdue, the Blues beat the Avalanche in overtime, and we bought a new TV that doesn't emit a high-pitched squeal and works smashingly with our DVD player. If only my chest would stop burning.
[4:00:42 AM | §]

February 10, 2001

I have uploaded a short entry.
[4:33:16 AM | §]

The paper is here! Yay!
[4:22:19 AM | §]

Counter, if you didn't have that cartoon bear, I totally wouldn't bother.
[3:29:22 AM | §]

February 9, 2001

It's supposed to drop from 54F to 19F today. Blech. Good bye, nice weather.

I still can breathe, and that doesn't please me.
[4:31:36 AM | §]

Wonder Cream - "The Choice of celebrity stars."

*snort*
[2:03:25 AM | §]

February 8, 2001

I think I'll hit the Nebulizer (not being able to breathe is a pain) and then attempt to get to sleep "early". Tomorrow (i.e., later today) could very well be worth being conscious for, weather-wise.
[4:16:54 AM | §]

Wow. I just opened the door to get the paper, and it's ridiculously nice outside. AOL tells me that it's 48F (and should get to almost 60F during the day). Lovely.
[4:02:48 AM | §]

Michael fixed the recycled pen! (It's cool, because it's made of wood, and we have no idea where it came from.)
[3:06:39 AM | §]

February 7, 2001

"I know! I'll sink to the bottom, then I can run to the shore!"
[5:21:42 PM | §]

Chris Pronger answered most of the posts on his message board. And some of those posts made me uncomfortable to read...
[4:19:55 AM | §]

There, I'm taping it. Yay.
[2:38:23 AM | §]

I have to remember to tape the re-airing of the Illilikepie beating Michigan State for Michael...
[2:10:07 AM | §]

February 6, 2001

Ever since cleaning out my closet, my chest has burned. The dust must have irritated my respiratory organs. It's evil.
[4:37:50 AM | §]

(You know, the really sad thing is that I went to the XFL site only to look at the cheerleaders.)
[2:09:03 AM | §]

I guess I should start putting together my fantasy XFL team.... Heh.
[2:05:51 AM | §]

February 5, 2001

I have a cut on the back of my finger, and I can't for the life of me figure out where it came from.
[10:48:17 PM | §]

I have added an entry and an update to Ask a Pirate (with an important message). The search requests have also been updated, but that's an almost daily occurrence.
[4:21:45 AM | §]

I use the word "just" too often, don't I?
[3:17:08 AM | §]

If I hadn't lost the cap to this bottle of water, I probably wouldn't have made such a huge water mess. There's just no way to know.
[2:51:13 AM | §]

I hope that soccer gets that Nobel Prize. Nothing brings people together like a good, old-fashioned soccer riot!
[12:53:24 AM | §]

February 4, 2001

Cat and Chicken needs to learn that she can't come sit on me when I have food. She is a dork.
[3:34:10 AM | §]

Michael doesn't much cotton to sleep.

I want more episodes of "The State".
[1:23:51 AM | §]

February 3, 2001

Is there anything more fun than old VCR tapes with random crap you recorded years ago? I hope we find more "The State".
[4:20:50 AM | §]

I think that they need to use the "only person who knows an important fact gets amnesia/is in a coma/can't speak" plot device a little more often on All My Children. I can't get enough of it.
[2:12:40 AM | §]

How on Earth did I get a hit from a porn site that doesn't even exist when I try to go there?
[1:16:14 AM | §]

In the interest of driving things into the ground, when Roman Turek was born, the country was still Czechoslovakia. I know he played for a team in the Czech Republic, but that doesn't mean he actually was a citizen. Hmmm. So, I really don't know for sure which of the two countries he lived in once they seperated.

Now I'm curious. Damn it. That's the piece of information I needed pointed out to me.

(I'll stop obsessing over this very soon.)
[1:04:27 AM | §]

In (most likely) pointless response to my latest guestbook entry:

Rest assured, I am not quite that stupid. If nothing else, I would have picked that fact up from the ridiculous amount of hockey I watch, I'm sure. I do, however, think that Germany is still divided by that pesky wall, that the USSR is spying on me, and that Spain and Portugal both speak Baroque.

I'm still trying to figure out what Roman Turek's hockey mask has to do with pie.

I would add a comment to the entry itself, but that just seems rude.
[12:35:47 AM | §]

February 2, 2001

If I had a pet penguin, I would name him "Michael Ball, AKA Pingin". Also, I would get him a penguin backpack.
[9:51:39 PM | §]

I have updated the links somewhat. Now, I plan to go to bed. Thrilling.
[4:54:12 AM | §]

Happy Groundhog Day! Try not to party too hard.
[3:03:05 AM | §]

I'm going to start listing my more interesting search requests again, this time in blog form.
[2:23:56 AM | §]

February 1, 2001

(And in reference to that last post: Yes, they were going for the word "finances".)
[4:55:26 AM | §]

From a SPAM email subject: "Take control of your fiances!"

I don't even have one....
[4:51:47 AM | §]

"I think you need a desk. I think you need a desk."

And then, a desk appears as if from nowhere. That's one of those scenes that we put in our movie, The Great Sacred Silver Corn, that just didn't work out.

I'd like to give that movie to some film students to analyze. They would probably think that we were trying to make a deep statement about how you can't change people. We were saying nothing, though. (Well, not intentionally.)

*sigh* I love Opening Night.
[4:19:39 AM | §]

Don't you hate it when you accidentally replace your main index page with Ask a Pirate? I do!

Speaking of which, I have updated Ask a Pirate. Quite craptacular, as usual.
[1:44:14 AM | §]

The Illilikepie AND the Nuggets lost. That's just devastating.
