(Look! It's been three days since my last entry! Again!)
Michael and I made a few fun discoveries last night while using the "move_objects on" cheat on The Sims:
1. If you move a character that you aren't interacting with into the pool, they'll magically reappear back where they were before when you restart action, but will be swimming on the ground.
2. One can get out of fines by deleting the policewoman before talking to her. (I'm not sure if there are any long term problems with that one.)
3. You can keep the carpool if you move it into an enclosed space. Most of them disappear after a while, but we had one car in our kitchen for days (until we turned off the game).
4. If you build a wall around the maid, she'll panic, then beam herself out.
We also discovered that if Death comes during a raging fire, he can catch fire himself (or so Michael says - I was asleep when that one happened). This makes it impossible to plead for your Sims life.
Fun stuff, that.
I made a tiny, tiny dent in my Christmas shopping yesterday, purchasing things for Shannon and Eric. Fortunately, Townsend is off work all next week, so he can drag us around in the ice and snow to finish with the shopping before next weekend.
When we left the mall today, there was a blizzard going on outside. I think the snow is over with, but the temperature has dropped to around 1 degree F, with wind chills of up to -50. Winter is heading in with a bang.
We put ornaments on Townsend's tree last night. I was pretty nervous when I couldn't find the crappy ornaments Michael made from the Christmas Crunch boxes in '95 and '96, but they eventually turned up. (We were inspired to make a new ornament from this year's box, after that scare.) It looks real purty, now.
I'm done saying things. I should clean Rat.
